In Touch Magazine

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

We’re glad you’re interested in working as a member of our freelance team. With every issue, our goal is to produce a better, more thought-provoking magazine, and that means we’re always looking for strong writers who can provide us the best possible material.

Our approach is threefold:

Storytelling • Exploration • Reflection

We believe in the power of a good story and love articles with a strong narrative component. We also love articles that display a spirit of exploration on the part of the writer. We are less interested in a piece that’s “tied up with a bow” than in those that ask questions, seek answers, and take readers along for the ride. It is our goal to help guide our subscribers into a deeper understanding of their faith—not just to give them prescriptive or pat answers.

We are on the lookout for fresh pieces. In other words, we relish those that focus on an element of the Christian life that hasn’t been explored previously as well as those that help readers think about a well-known topic or passage of Scripture in a new way.

Get to know our publication. Visit intouch.org/magazine to see our most recent issue. And don't be afraid to look through the older material. There's some great stuff there, too!

Send us a query letter. We do not accept full articles for consideration. Instead, please send us a letter that contains the following information:

·      Name and contact information

·      Social media information (blogs, Twitter, etc.)

·      A brief bio that gives us a sense of your experience as a writer

·      Links to your published work (attachments are also acceptable)

·      A list of topics you’re most interested in writing about

·      Which department you think is the best fit

We will review your documentation and contact you via email if we believe you might be a good fit for our publication.

After initial contact, you will pitch an article to write on spec and submit by due date for review and complete any and all requested rewrites. (Please note that a spec piece is assigned as such. We do not guarantee publication.) If the piece is accepted, you will be added to the freelance pool and will begin receiving monthly pitch request emails. You may also submit pitches at any time between cycles.

We look forward to meeting you and hopefully working with you in the future!

Below are opportunities to either submit a general query letter, or one regarding a specific department or special section in the magazine.
